During my daily commute to the edit suite I ride along the Merri Creek path. Hidden from traffic the path winds it's way along the creek and into the city. Recently a tent appeared along the path. A homeless couple had struck a camp right next to the bike path. I thought they would be moved on in a day or so. But each day I would ride past and the tent would still be there. I'd ride past slowly and I could always hear signs of life inside. It really fascinated me and I was working up to introduce myself and find out a little about how they ended up camping by the Merri Creek. Maybe take a portrait of them or just have a chat. I wasnt sure. But today i rode past and the whole campsite was a pile of burnt rubbish. Tent and all. Like the whole thing had just been set alight and left. Hope everything with those guys is ok. North Fitzroy, VIC.
