712 documents my compulsory 14-day hotel quarantine in Room 712 at the Radisson Blue Plaza Hotel Sydney, Australia, between August 26th and September 8th, 2020.

I was in the room for two weeks straight, the windows didn’t open, and three times a day a soft knock alerted me to a meal left outside my door. Although I was isolated from the city I quickly felt in tune with its daily rhythms. I noticed the path of the sun, the shadows it created, the ebb and flow of traffic and pedestrians and I found the restriction of only having the room and the view from my windows to photograph a strangely liberating way to pass ‘the time’.
